Science Articles awaken the mind

The science article serves a deep role in shaping society and awakening minds.   By creating an informed perspective and a balanced viewpoint a science article can open the minds of those who are in a position to learn the foundational skills of new technologies and those who are in a position to invest on and make a technology a reality.

Raw Research

Science is the raw research that goes into building the engine that drives our society.   By transforming our day to day reality, we were able to apply science and make it out of the caves, the next step on that journey is of course the stars.    Without a focus on expanding our evolutionary niche, humans will become trapped, and like any other organism which has accepted boundaries, people will wait for a stronger more aggressive and more adept predator to come along and drive us out of our ecological niche.    From a species standpoint this is a bad thing, which is why it is deeply necessary to bring the science article to life.

Science is the underlaying force of everything that we create, except babies, and it appears even that is changing in some situations.    Science opens doors, and is our tool as a species to put light in the dark caves of ignorance.    Without the flames of science, we would not risk burning ourselves, but at the same time we would not be able to engineer the progress it takes to get us off this rock on which our species is stranded.    

Develop New Technologies

There will always be those that say that there are too many issues on the home front to explore science, to explore space to develop new technologies which may or may not have immediate applications.    The truth of the matter is, science does that pretty much as a side effect.   Agricultural production has tremendous yields due to the power of science, without it, we probably could not support as many people as our world does.      Ultimately there will always be issues that seem more pressing, the economy, jobs, day to day living. This was true ever since we set about working the land.   Without science we would still be pushing rocks through the dirt to prepare the ground to grow food, if we had even figured that out. Chances are we’d still be using the rock to hit things on the head with so that we could eat.   Hunting and gathering is hard work, and if a few cavemen hadn’t taken the time to figure out a better way, then we’d all still be doing that and muttering about how we out to leave the area around the cave for a while.

What is science?

 Science is the torch of Prometheus, the knowledge of things to come.   It is an anticipation and it is lit by the spark of knowledge.   Like early man, we are always at risk of letting the fire get out of control, setting it free to engulf us.    Like early man we can see the advantages in comfort and resources that fire provides for us.    Fire, as with technology can scorch the earth. Fire also in the same manner as science can light the way so we can see further into the distance on the darkest of nights.    Lighting a fire in the darkness can draw attention, but it is a necessary risk, and those who think it best to silently wait on their couches for the new overlords to arrive, will be dragged kicking and screaming into the new and bold world of interactive science.
