3d video games meet the movies in the production of the film avatar
Ubisoft has announced that it is setting up shop in Toronto Canada. This move is expected to have many advantages as well as expanding the companies North American presence.
Ubisoft is a leader in the 3d games market and has indicated that it is moving towards a deeper merger of film and three-d gaming. At this time the company is working closely with director James Cameron, director of the Titanic and a huge number of other blockbuster titles such as Terminator. The project with James Cameron revolves around the 3D movie “Avatar”.
By getting more deeply involved in film technology the company appears to be poised to step to the next level in 3d gaming. The success of Avatar is probably in the bag when attached to the reputation of one of the most famous film directors on the planet. The extent of collaboration is unknown, but it is safe to expect that the company will be lending its technological talents and expertise in designing 3d game worlds and special effects which will translate in spectacular form under the guidance of such a skilled cinematographer.
